NetOp School Student is one of the two pieces composing NetOp School, a tool developed by Danware that brings a complete solution for virtual classroom activities and education at distance.

Nowadays, the network is the natural environment in which information transfers and people develop and grow either working or studying. This context creates a completely new scenario for studying and learning where is no longer needed to be in the same location or room to be able to attend to class. Imagine being able to take a PhD, dictated abroad by experts in the subject, but actually being seated at home. How much money and time is it saved? All things considered, a tool that allows you to dictate (or attend) a class and manage a course over Internet, without the need of a physical reunion it’s no longer a fancy tool, but an essential one.
As pointed out before, NetOp School is composed by two modules: Teacher and Student. The computer with the Teacher module installed is the one working as the host, meaning that it’s the one being visited by the computers with the Student module installed. An important aspect to remark of this tool is that it can run on several platforms. Take a look to the list to see if it meets your needs:
• Windows Server 2003,
• Windows Vista,
• Windows XP,
• Windows 2000,
• Windows NT4,
• Windows 9X,
• Windows Terminal Server,
• Citrix.
Let’s take a look to the students’ daily tasks and how NetOp School can help them out:
• Join a class: Typically the student computer automatically joins a predefined class when the Student module is started. This means that you are automatically in the right class when the computer starts and you can wait for the teacher to take action. The student computer can also be set up to allow you to select a class from a list of available classes. If the student computer is on a different network from the teacher computer, you can connect to the teacher computer by specifying an IP address.
You can also wait for the teacher to invite you to join a specific class. In this situation all you have to do is to accept the invitation.
• Communicate with the teacher: You can communicate with your teacher and with the other students but the communication has to be initiated by the teacher. The only way a student can begin communication is by clicking the help request icon.
• Take a test: Tests are started by the teacher and open by themselves. The only thing you have to do to begin answering is to enter your name. When you have entered your name and clicked OK you are ready to take the test.
• Assist the teacher: The teacher can choose to set up a workgroup in the class and appoint a student to be an assistant teacher. When a student computer temporarily takes over as a teacher computer, the student computer automatically has the same user interface and access to the same features as a teacher normally has.
• Request help from the teacher: To request help from the teacher, click the life belt icon.
• Play recording: Typically a recording is a file that the teacher creates and distributes to selected student computers for the students to view when it fits into the individual's lessons or preparation work. When the teacher distributes a recording, it automatically appears on the student computers' Recordings tab in a default folder called Recording.
